Meet Our Team
Peace Love Pawz Animal Wellness Center
Dr. Elise Weiland
Dr. Weiland, Lead Veterinarian, earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 2024 and then went on to a 1-year specialized internship in avian and exotic animal medicine. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, and providing exceptional care for exotic mammals and reptiles.
Outside the clinic, you'll find her thrift shopping, creating arts and crafts, or dancing at Zumba. At home, she's kept busy by her beloved cat, Alfie, who definitely runs the household!
Dr. Heather Myers
Dr. Myers, Veterinarian, is a longtime friend and colleague of Dr. Maria Riedel and brings decades of veterinary experience, compassion, and dedication to patient care. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Akron in 1985 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 1989.
What Dr. Myers loves most about veterinary medicine is building relationships with pets and their families. She enjoys getting to know each patient and owner, helping pets stay healthy, and supporting families through both the joys and challenges that come with their pets' healthcare journeys.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Myers enjoys painting, watching movies, walking in nature, and seeking out both new and classic roller coasters she hasn't had the chance to ride yet.
Kelsey
Owner
Kelsey started her veterinary career in 2016 as a receptionist and veterinary assistant, eventually growing into practice management.
Having grown up in New Franklin, she’s excited to own a small business in the community she calls home. Kelsey is passionate about supporting her team, making pet care fair and accessible, and giving back through community outreach.
She is also the founder of Friends with Pets, a sector of Friends In Tents & Community Outreach providing pet care and support to people experiencing homelessness in Akron.
Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys playing anything on Nintendo, volunteering, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with her three dogs—Teagan, Grimley & Peach—her cat, Cheddar, and her guinea pig, Potato.
Cassie
Owner/ RVT
Cassie graduated from Wilson College with a Bachelor's in Veterinary Medical Technology and a minor in Business Management.
Born and raised in the area, she has been working with local nonprofits her whole life, including the Halo Foundation, 93 Cents for Flight 93, and most recently, working with Kelsey to support the Friends with Pets mission.
As a Registered Veterinary Technologist, she has a special passion for ultrasound and dentistry, and she enjoys helping patients receive the highest quality care. Outside of the clinic, she's a busy mom to a 3-year-old and a 9-month-old, who love stopping by to visit the team and brighten everyone's day!
